Citizens Bank & Trust Company, an independently owned Webster Parish based bank, was founded in 1955 and has been serving the financial needs of the area since its inception. The Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of Citizens Bankshares, Inc., a financial holding company. The Board of Directors is committed to community banking and to providing the latest in innovative services to our customers. Over the years we have introduced to our customers the convenience of ATM banking, Saturday banking, Internet and Telephone banking. Image statements and E-mail statements provide quick and easy access to your permanent records. We will continue to search for effective ways to improve our financial services and to keep up with the rapid changes in technology in order to make your banking efficient.
Early in 1998 the decision was made to grow into additional markets in order to provide needed services. With expansions in 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2005 the bank now provides community banking to four cities in three parishes. Citizens bank has a reputation of providing accessible management, quality service tailored to the needs of the customer, reasonable costs and expert financial institution experience. Confidentiality is evidenced in the bank’s Privacy Policy and integrity is evidenced by the quality of personnel we employ.
As evidenced by the mural at our main office location, the timber industry has played a large role in our past. Today, however we provide, not only a quality level of retail/consumer related services, but are also focused on commercial services and lending. Our commercial lending programs cover areas from “mom and pop” businesses to national corporate accounts. That is why we say, “At Citizens Bank, the Banking business is the Business of banking Businesses”.
Over the past few years, several of our charter board members have passed away. These were men of vision and a history of long service to the bank and the community. The board continues to evolve and these men have been replaced with exuberant, energetic men with a passion for excellence. In recent years we have added to the board of directors Dr. Wayne McMahen, Raymond Robertson, Jay Hearnsberger and most recently Sherburne Sentell III. Each of these men brings expertise in a particular market segment thereby ensuring a needed level of diversity.
Citizens Bank continues to seek additional markets in which to serve, provide an acceptable level of return to our shareholders and provide an unexpected level of products and services to our customers.
